Feeling grateful ...
So I haven't prepared a usual blog post as such this week ... we had an awful shock when my darling Dad had a stroke and was rushed A&E in the early hours of Thursday morning.
It's been a real wake up call for all of us, my Dad is by no means an 'old' 62 year old but a few - easily tweakable - bad lifestyle habits (mainly the deadly smoking habit) have contributed to his very unexpected turn in bad health.
Thankfully he is home and recovering brilliantly, he had us all in stitches in A&E and is determined to make a full recovery. All the staff at the Royal Hampshire County hospital were brilliant, I can't express how grateful we all are.
So just a quick post to say how lucky I'm feeling to still have my Dad, who we all adore and also a bit of a healthy encouragement to anyone who doesn't take their health seriously, it's hard to knock bad habits but just being a bit more conscientious about what we're putting into and doing with our bods, whatever our age, surely isn't a bad thing. And a sobering reminder that we're not on this mortal coil forever, you get one shot so let's try and enjoy it, love, laugh and live hard!
And if you're lucky enough to have a good relationship with your parents, give them a super tight squeeze the next time you see them ... ❤️
